“Eat, Pray, Love.”

Eat, pray, love. I’m finding my own path in life, and I am celebrating my individual self.

There is this American saying “You can be whatever you want. You can even be an astronaut.”

Ok. News flash. You can’t. Whoever tells you that is a big, fat liar. If you can’t sing, you cannot be in a show on Broadway. If you are terrible at maths, you can’t be a mathematician.

But what can you be?

Good enough.

When does different become the new normal? Are all people with ADHD different? Are all bipolar people different from other non-bipolar folks? Are gay people different from religious people? Well, when it comes to the last one: maybe, but at the same time, both parties are equally prejudiced. (Believe me, I know!)

The question I’m asking is this: We want to be individuals and go our own ways…but why on God’s green earth are we looking for a group of people who are thinking, living and wanting exactly the same things as us?

How individual is that?!

We all need to belong. We all need to make ourselves matter, in our own little ways.
